Consolidation & Reporting is responsible for a wide range of accounting and reporting activities such as the coordinating and preparation of external reporting requirements (IFRS financial statements), reporting to the shareholder, to the Management Board and the Supervisory Board. The team is also responsible for setting-up and maintaining the Group accounting and reporting manual. The team operates in an international and dynamic environment and works closely with the Group Provisioning Team, Corporate Finance and Group Control and with the finance teams around the world.

 

 

Job description

 

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Coordinate the finance unit in the financial statements’ consolidation process (under IFRS and PCEA) 
  • Assist in the monthly consolidation and reporting process
  • Supporting the preparation of internal and external reporting requirements, including reports to the Management Board, Supervisory Board and to the Shareholders and Supervisory Authorities (IFRS)
  • Respond to (ad-hoc) information requests from other departments and from the external auditors
  • Contributing to the development and enhancement of corporate procedures and guidelines regarding the closing process
  • Maintaining and updating the technical accounting policies for the Group
  • The Reporting Manager Consolidation Expert will report directly to the Manager Consolidation & Reporting.

 

Knowledge, Education and Experience

 

  • We are looking for a motivated and ambitious person, with a University degree in Accounting or Finance
  • You should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience, preferably in an international environment in the insurance sector or in the big4 audit firms
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is required, both verbally and written. Knowledge of other languages is an advantage
  • Ability to work in a complex and challenging environment dealing with different stakeholders
  • Good analytic skills, able to maintain an overview but also willing to go into the details
  • Good understanding of IFRS 
  • Good communication skills and a teamplayer
  • Independent and pragmatic way of working

The Planning Team is responsible for the preparation of the annual Budget, Forecast and Long Term Plan.

GC has an important role in the Group’s IFRS 17 program and is responsible for the implementation of a budget and planning process under IFRS17.

 

Job Description

 

You will work in an enthusiastic, committed, non-hierarchical, and international team. You will work together closely with our colleagues of the Group Provisioning department, who are in the lead of implementing the IFRS17 tools and processes, as well as the GC IFRS17 team who lead the Business Change Management process in the transformation phase towards IFRS17.

 

Tasks include:

 

  • Adapt and develop further the IFRS17 planning process and tools in the transition project phase
  • Bridge between the requirements from the control community and the system implementation teams
  • Understand and explain the IFRS17 model outcome and help the control community to master the transition from IFRS4 based planning to IFRS17
  • Steer and run the process to produce an IFRS17 based budget with inputs from the control community, feeding into the end to end calculation infrastructure

 

Job Requirements

 

  • Comfortable with communication with people at a senior level. 
  • You are open to new methodologies and aim to learn different approaches.
  • You are capable of understanding and challenging the models being applied. 
  • You have a good intuition as to what influences model outcomes, “seeing the bigger picture”.
  • You are to communicate both with local commercial controllers as well as with the quants and actuaries that develop the tool and processes for IFRS17, conveying requirements from controllers into solutions and tool design requirements
  • You take initiative and responsibility. You are a self-starter.

 

Knowledge, Education and Experience

 

We are looking for a motivated and ambitious person, with a bachelor /master degree in Business/Economics/Actuary.


We are looking for a person with at least 3 years of relevant working experience, preferably in an international environment and/or the financial services sector. Experience with actuarial and quantitative methods as well as accounting in an audit firm are a requirement.

 

Strong communication- and interpersonal skills are required as often you have to deal with colleagues across hierarchies and country borders.

 

Fluency in English and in Spanish is required, verbally and written. A working knowledge of other European languages is an advantage.

 

You need to have good analytical skills and the ability to put complex findings into a convincing presentation storyline.

 

You need to have good IT-skills, affinity to IT and interest to work with and develop further the IFRS17 tools and processes.

 

You should be a team player and feel comfortable with working in an international team. Working at this level in the company means having a flexible attitude towards ad hoc requests of senior management and the ability to cope with a complex environment.
