Since it was founded in 1929, Crédito y Caución has been intensely active internationally. In 1930 the Company signed risk-sharing agreements in 36 countries and joined the recently created International Credit Insurance & Surety Association (ICISA). In 1934, together with three other companies in France, United Kingdom and Italy, it founded the Berne Union, which today has 52 members in 43 different countries. Since 1981 it has belonged to the Pan-American Surety Association (PASA).
Crédito y Caución belongs to the FMRE (Forum of Eminent Spanish Trademarks), an organisation comprising 100 Spanish companies with leading brand names in their respective sectors, the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation; the ICEX (Spanish Foreign Trade Institute); and the OEPM (Spanish Office of Patents and Trademarks). Its aim is to foster the strategic importance of Spanish brands, in particular those with a distinctive reputation and profile, in furtherance of the competitiveness and internationalisation of Spanish companies, promoting the image of the Spain Brand abroad by means of leading Spanish brands with public authority support.
